In 2013, three amazing Sustainability Fairs were organised by CERES, VAEE and Tomorrow's Leaders for Sustainability.

These were FREE conferences funded by Sustainability Victoria and sponsored by a range of generous organisations and local governments.

The Fairs were hosted by three leading ResourceSmart AuSSI Vic sustainable schools - Bentleigh Secondary College, Epping Views Primary School and Croydon Hills Primary School.

These super fun events gave teachers and students the opportunity to:

  • Talk to sustainability education providers and businesses about how they can support schools.
  • Attend interactive workshops to 'Skill Up' for ResourceSmart AuSSI Vic including student leadership, action planning, tracking resource use and sustainability in AusVELS.
  • Participate in presentations from mentor schools.
  • Be inspired by the host school through a tour AND
  • See roving entertainers!

Both primary and secondary schools from all different education sectors attended the events, totalling 128 schools from the Northern, Eastern and Southern Metropolitan regions of Melbourne.  The events reached over 220 teachers and nearly 500 students from Grade 5 to Year 12.  The Sustainability Fairs also involved over 40 educational, environmental and local government organisations
