Who we are

The TLfS organisation is made up of Management staff, an Advisory Network, trained Facilitators and a group of Speakers.  We also see our network of trained Teachers and Community Educators together with our Student Graduates as an important part of the TLfS organisation.  This network of like-minded people is growing all the time and we expect this to continue as the TLfS program is rolled out in schools and communities across Australia in the years to come.  For more information about key personnel click on the links below.

Advisory Network

TLfS is creating a unique network of people to help develop and deliver the TLfS program in schools and communities.  With a strong link to vocational activities, we have a number of representatives from vocationally orientated organisations helping with content development, as it relates to careers, project ideas and work placements.  We are working to expand these important connections, but at this stage some of these organisations include the following:

  • Bayside / Glen Eira / Kingston Local Learning and Employment Network
  • Port Phillip EcoCentre
  • Youth Connect
  • Wimmera Southern Mallee Local Learning & Employment Network

We are also working with Community Groups to develop projects specific to local areas and local issues. We are working to expand these important connections and will list these organisations as arrangements as formalised.

Of course teachers and community educators have been central to the development and ongoing improvement of the TLfS program and we work closely with a number of schools to monitor the delivery and evaluation of the TLfS program. The Members section of this website contains a full list of schools who have signed up to the TLfS program.

Facilitators

At this stage, there are a number of teachers who are trained to facilitate the TLfS program.  The majority of these Facilitators are able to deliver the TLfS program to students in either their school or local community.  Two Master Facilitators are available to conduct Train the Trainer workshops for teachers and community educators.  Our goal is to create a Facilitator Bank where schools can call on TLfS Facilitators, other than their own staff, to run the TLfS program in their schools.  We will also have a number of Master Facilitators to train teachers and community educators so as to spread the TLfS program across schools and communities in Australia.

Speakers

At this stage, we are developing the TLfS Speakers Bank whereby schools and/or community groups participating in the TLfS program can call on experienced speakers to come and talk about a range of topics associated with the program.  Speakers will be able to cover the following topics:

  • Sustainability issues
  • Career issues
  • Industry issues
